11/03/07   ISG Pearce Scoops National Award as a Top 100 Company

This annual award, which is run by The Sunday Times, identifies the top 100 companies based on an independent analysis of the business, as well as a detailed survey of each company’s own employees.  This is undertaken by Workplace Engagement specialists, Best Companies.   ISG Pearce was placed in 81st position, establishing the company as one of the three best places to work in the South West and one of only four construction companies that made the final list.

Nearly 900 organisations registered to participate in the 2007 awards.  The evaluation process started in November 2006, with a detailed appraisal of ISG Pearce's policies, processes, recruitment practices and facilities, as well as their approach to training and development. This was followed by an employee opinion survey conducted by Best Companies which included all ISG Pearce employees.

As a result of the evaluation process, ISG Pearce has also been awarded the coveted 2-Star status by Best Companies, which officially recognises it as an ‘outstanding’ organisation.

This prestigious award comes at the conclusion of a comprehensive business strategy review undertaken by ISG Pearce’s Senior Management Team.  Colin Forrest, Chief Executive said: “I am really delighted with this award as it underlines our total commitment to the development of our people in an industry that suffers from consistent under investment in this area.”

“Having gained Investor in People accreditation in 2002, we were keen to benchmark our own organisation against others – both in our own sector and beyond.  The Sunday Times list allows us to do just that, it’s placing us firmly in the top quartile of best practice companies in the UK; and we intend to stay there."

Commenting on the awards, Jonathan Austin, Chief Executive, Best Companies said: “ISG Pearce’s 2007 accreditation is an outstanding achievement.  It confirms their commitment to the on-going journey of workplace engagement.  Our role is to set a rigorous benchmark so that organisations can become even better employers.”
