11/07/06 ISG Pearce Appointed to Sovereign Housing Association Framework
ISG Pearce has won a four year framework with the Sovereign Development Consortium, joining a panel of four contractors who will build up to 500 affordable homes per year over the next four years. 60 units have already been allocated to ISG Pearce in the Bristol and Wiltshire areas.
The appointment was influenced by ISG Pearce's track record of working within frameworks with a broad range of retail clients, including Tesco and M&S. In this sector, the company has demonstrated the benefits of implementing modern methods of construction - particularly with regard to lean techniques involving off site fabrication and collaborative planning and sourcing with the supply chain.
It is also expected that ISG Pearce will work closely with Sovereign on land assembly deals and possible joint ventures. Commenting on the appointment, ISG Pearce director, Andrew Dale-Harris, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for ISG Pearce to work closely with our local supplier base to deliver top quality affordable housing with an identified forward workload. We have set tough challenges for cost and programme and will be utilising a great deal of the learning we have gained from frameworks in other sectors".
