01/08/06 Summer Success for ISG Pearce
The company’s retail team has been allocated a series of projects totalling £28 million for schemes across the South West. Over and above projects for Tesco and Asda, five significant refurbishment projects have been allocated to ISG Pearce by Marks and Spencer and six refits by Sainsburys, all of which follow recent announcements by the two retailers outlining significant increases in their construction spend.
Commenting on the success, ISG Pearce’s Chief Executive, Colin Forrest, said: "This is excellent news for both ISG Pearce and our local supply chain. These new retail contracts provide an excellent platform to sustain the growth of our operations in this area and provide a significant contribution to our total retail turnover target for the year of £75 million.”
In the education sector, three further projects have been secured: at King Edmund Community School, Yate; Shirehampton School and Headlands school, Swindon, with a combined value of £6.8m.
The company’s affordable housing team is also celebrating, having been awarded a four year framework contract with the Sovereign Development Consortium, one of the country’s leading consortium of Housing Associations. Joining a panel of four contractors who will build up to 500 affordable homes over the next four years, ISG Pearce has already been allocated 60 units to be built in the Bristol and Wiltshire areas over the next 8 months.
Colin Forrest continued: “Whilst all contract wins are important to us, we are particularly pleased by our appointment to build affordable homes in the region. I understand that the decision to appoint ISG Pearce was influenced by our track record of working within strategic collaborative frameworks with a number of our major clients. In this area, we have demonstrated our ability to adopt a modern approach to construction, introducing ‘lean construction’ techniques more commonly associated with the automotive industry.
“We will be using these techniques in our work with Sovereign and are looking forward to developing new initiatives, which may include land assembly deals and joint ventures.”
