25/03/06 Future Builders Initiative
The Future Builders Initiative (FBI) is a pioneering scheme working with youth specialists Young Bristol, and the CITB to give young people a hands on experience of construction.
It's been a real team effort: Alan Kelford has co-ordinated subcontractors and suppliers help in the provision of materials, Mike Davis and Bob Morgan have helped get the facility ready. Our retired Site Manager Ken Bullock is leading the sessions and Pete Creese has given everyone a Health and Safety talk.
The CITB are getting a lot of interest in this new approach which ISG Pearce have developed and it is likely to be duplicated elsewhere.
The first Young Bristol workshop held at Parklands was organised by Tom Harper.
