Case Study Coed Y Lan Comprehensive School
The works, which were carried out in a ‘live’ environment with shared access and egress to the school, comprised the construction of a New Teaching Block, New Sports Hall and Kitchen Refurbishment.
Built on an old colliery adjacent to the existing school the site had be decontaminated and substantial obstructions removed prior to commencement.
The steel framed structures are founded on precast concrete piles and a reinforced concrete raft.
The envelope is of traditional cavity construction with facing brickwork and render, polyester powder coated aluminium windows and curtain walling. The roof is Zinc.
Services, water, gas and electricity have been extended from the school.
