ISG Pearce are committed to supporting sustainable construction as part of our long term commitment to communities and future generations. This includes technical skills developed through delivery of pioneering sustainable design and construction of projects involving a combination of smart design and green technologies.
We have a member of staff serving on the management panel for Future Foundations, the Sustainable construction initiative for the South West. ISG Pearce are also Team Leaders for a Constructing Excellence ‘Demonstration Project’ entitled the Essential E.
This project is building a coherent package of training to ensure that the ‘time poor’ very small builders in the local community are provided with low cost but effective training covering business skills (via the European Business competence licence), health and safety, renewable energy, waste, energy efficiency and environmental impact.
This aligns with a ISG Pearce strategy to increase working with local small contractors and thus build communities and reduce travel. ISG Pearce are also lending IT support to the development of a Site Waste calculation sheet for use by the industry as a whole in partnership with Envirowise. Such initiatives have seen ISG Pearce win national recognition for initiative and leadership in this field.
We place particular emphasise on young people through investment in programmes such as the ISG Pearce Future Builder scheme and school link programmes as essential to building a strong responsible society for the future. ISG Pearce are currently partnering with a Bristol school under the ABLAZE community engagement programme and have similar programmes with other colleges and schools.
